My Introduction.

Right, hello. My name is Ant and I am the creator and owner of LOUD Skateboards, and the guy in the picture above.
Ever since I can remember I've always been interested in skating. I had a board of my own, I played the console games and I designed my own decks during class at school. The problem was one day at about the age of 10, I was out skating up and down my road when I tripped and had quite a nasty fall. The board went flying, I went flying, and because of this I ended up stopping to skate for about 7/8 years. It wasn't until after college I thought of buying myself another skateboard to get myself round as i couldn't drive at the time. I had to start from scratch and learn everything all over again (not that I knew much in the first place, but I had fun) so I tried to skate as much as I could. I would take advantage of any situation. I would practice in my garden, just cruise anywhere I needed to go by myself, and practice in car parks when I met my friends. (Coz we thought we were cool at the time hanging round car parks at some ungodly time of the night/morning) The down side was I had to work lot, so I didn't actually do much skating overall. However it's been a few years now and I am getting there. Slowly might I add, but getting there never the less. With me though its more about having fun with it rather than just trying to learn every trick ever known. Then at 18 I pass my driving test and got a car, which meant my board literally came everywhere I went. Bliss.
Have a look my bloody awful first skate video, and see what I mean by "not very good, but enjoy myself" click this link to watch A day in the life of... Ant Abbey

But anyway enough about my life. For the past year or so, what started out as just a hobby which entailed doing a bit of designing, ordering in a few blanks and painting them turned into an idea of starting a business out of it. I painted a few from some of my most resent designs, told some friends and not long after, my good friend Will asked for a custom board which I made happily, and presented after it was done to an even happier Will.

He then decided that he didn't want it ruined so he kept as art then ask for a second board that he can use to actually skate. So he picked from my fruit range and I got on it. After it was all done we popped down to our local skate park "jacksons" to enjoy the rest of the beautiful summers day with a skate.

Any way I intend to make loads more boards, and keep blogging to keep you all updated on any future designs, inspiration, and any other news that comes up i guess. enjoy 8{D
